HP beats Acer and Asus to lead European PC sales race
HP sold more PCs across Western Europe than any of its rivals, including nearest challengers Acer and Asus, to claim a 22.9 percent share of the fiercely contested market in the first quarter of 2012.   According to the latest data from the research company Gartner, HP comfortably outsold the likes of Lenovo, Dell and Asus, although Acer did manage to earn a 14.6 percent share of the market. Yahoo interim CEO upbeat after predecessor is forced out
Yahoo's interim chief executive Ross Levinsohn struck an upbeat tone in his first note to staff after taking over in the post from Scott Thomson, who was forced to leave following claims he misrepresented qualifications on his CV.   In a leaked memo to his workforce that made its way into the hands of the tech news website AllthingsD, Levinsohn said Yahoo is "achieving genuine and meaningful successes in the marketplace everyday".
